County Information

Description

Van Buren County was named for President Martin Van Buren, an American lawyer and statesman who served as the 8th president of the United States from 1837 to 1841.[2] The county is located in the east-central area of the state.[3]

The courthouse is still standing because it is a tiny historic structure and was not the repository for the records any more.
