County Information

Description

Anderson County was named for Joseph Anderson (1757-1847), who was at that time U.S. senator from Tennessee; in his career he also served as judge of the Superior Court of the Territory South of the River Ohio and Comptroller of the U.S. Treasury. The county is located in the northeastern area of the state.[2]
