Want to locate an historic place in Maryland -- such as learning which county a town was in? Fisher's 1852 Gazetteer of the State of Maryland is on Google Books.
The Maryland State Archives has nearly all available public records from 1634 to 1789; most original state and county records through the mid-twentieth century; microfilm copies of land, probate, and vital records to the present; and an extensive number of volume and card indexes.
