County Information

Description

Frederick County was created 10 Dec 1748[2] and was named for either Frederick, Prince of Wales, or Frederick Calvert, 6th Baron Baltimore. Its county seat is Frederick. It is located in the north-central area of the state.[3]

Revolutionary War

Frederick County men served in the 6th Maryland Regiment[11] and the 7th Maryland Regiment.[12]
