County Information

Description

Somerset County was created 22 Aug 1666[3] and was named for Mary, Lady Somerset, the wife of Sir John Somerset and daughter of Thomas Arundell, 1st Baron Arundell of Wardour. Its county seat is Princess Anne. It is located in the southeastern area of the state.[4]
