History
As one of the original counties created in 1785, Queens County is located in central New Brunswick. The Parishes of Wickham, Hampstead, Gagetown and Waterborough were erected in 1786. The Parish of Brunswick was set up in 1816. Canning was erected from Waterborough in 1827 and Chipman was created from Brunswick and Canning in 1835. Petersville was set off from Hampstead and Gagetown in 1838 and Johnston was established in 1839 from part of Wickham. The Parish of Cambridge was erected from Wickham and Waterborough in 1852.
