Parish History

HAM (St. George), a parish, in the union and hundred of Eastry, lathe of St. Augustine, E division of Kent, 2 miles S from the town of Sandwich.^[1]

"Ham is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deanery of Sandwich . The church is named St. George with registers commencing 1552. Ham is a parish in Eastry district, Kent; 1 mile east of Eastry, and 2 miles south-by-west of Sandwich rail station."^[2]

Ham St Augustine was an Ancient parish in the Diocese of Canterbury and is now absorbed into Northbourne St Augustine parish; the redundant Anglican church within the hamlet is now in use as a studio.
