Parish History

NACKINGTON (St. Mary), a parish, in the union of Bridge, hundred of Bridge and Petham, lathe of St. Augustine, E division of Kent, 2¼ miles S from Canterbury. ^[1]

Nackington St Mary the Virgin is an Ancient Parish in the village of Nackington and civil parish of Lower Hardres in the City of Canterbury district of Kent. The modern parish of Lower Hardres with Nackington is part of the Bridge benefice within the Diocese of Canterbury; a map of the parish boundary is available at A church near you

The church was built on lands acquired by St Gregory's Priory in the 12th century and was subsequently extended in the 13th and 19th centuries.

The church of St Mary, Church Lane, Lower Hardres has been designated as a grade I listed building British listed building
