GODMERSHAM (St. Lawrence), a parish, in the union of East Ashford, hundred of Felborough, lathe of Shepway, E division of Kent, 6¼ miles NE by N from Ashford. [1]
"Godmersham is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deanery of Bridge. The church is named for St Lawrence with original parish registers commencing 1600."[2]
