ERITH (St. John the Baptist), a parish, in the union of Dartford, hundred of Lessness, lathe of Sutton-At-Hone, W division of Kent, 2¼ miles N from Crayford. [1]
"Erith is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deanery of Dartford. The church is named for St. John the Baptist with original parish registers commencing 1625.
The parish contains also the hamlets of Beadonwell, Belvidere, Lessness-Heath, Picardy, and Northumberland-Heath." [2]
