WAREHORNE (St. Matthew), a parish, in the union of East Ash ford, partly in the hundred of Ham, lathe of Shepway, E division, and partly in the hundred of Blackbourne, lathe of Scray, W division, of Kent, 7¼ miles S by W from Ashford. [1]

Warehorne St Matthew is an Ancient Parish and part of Hamstreet is within the parish boundary the rest being shared with Orlestone, Kent which includes the Church of the Good Shepherd Hamstreet a joint Anglican/Methodist church which is part of the United benefice with this parish and others.
