HALSTOW, LOW (St. Margaret), a parish, in the union and hundred of Milton, Upper division of the lathe of Scray, E division of Kent, 5½ miles NE from Sittingbourne.[1]
"Halstow is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deanery of Sittingbourne. The church is named St. Margaret with original parish registers commencing 1691 and Archdeacon's Transcripts commencing 1564.
Lower Halstow, is a parish in Milton district, Kent; at the upper end of Stangate creek, between the Medway and the Swale, 3 miles east-north-east of Rainham, rail station, and 4-1/2 northwest of Sittingbourne."[2]
