DEBTLING, Deptling or Detling, a parish in Hollingbourne district, Kent; 2¾ miles NE of Maidstone. [1]
Detling is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deanery of Sutton. Detling is in the Lathe of Aylesford, Maidstone Hundred. The church is named for St. Martin of Tours with registers commencing 1558.[2]
Detling St Martin of Tours is an Ancient Parish in the Diocese of Canterbury and together with Boxley, Kent forms the Boxley with Detling benefice.
