Brief History

22nd Infantry Regiment completed its organization at Montogmery, Alabama, in November, 1861. Its companies were raised in the counties of Walker, Clarke, Cherokee, Mobile, Pike, Choctaw, Montgomery, Calhoun, and Randolph. The regiment was included in the surrender on April 26, 1865.
