County Information

Description

Montgomery County was created on 6 December 1816 and was named for Lemuel P. Montgomery, a military officer killed at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend in the War of 1812.[2] Its county seat is Montgomery.[3] It is located in the south-central area of the state.
