City Directories (Directorios)
City directories can be used to locate residents in large cities to determine parish jurisdictions, and identify occupations and residence over a period of time. Most directories date from the 1880s.
Directories generally include residents’ names, addresses, occupations or places of employment. Records may be found at city and municipal archives and libraries. About 20 percent of the population may be identified in these records.
