Juvenile Records[edit | edit source]
These records are valuable in cases of death or divorce of parents with minor children. They include records of orphans, adoptions, and guardianships. Records begin about 1926.
Records include names of children, name changes, adoptions, parents, guardians, ages, dates and places of birth, residence, legitimations, legal acknowledgements, and court decisions. About five percent of the population may be found in these records.
Records may be found at the National Bureau of Records Management, local courts and civil registry offices.
