Parish History

SCALBY (St. Lawrence), a parish, in the union of Scarborough, Pickering lythe, N. riding of York; containing, with the chapelry of Cloughton, and the townships of Burniston, Newby, Stainton-Dale, Throxenby and Scalby township, 3¼ miles (N. W. by W.) from Scarborough.[1]
