Parish History
This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1618.
WILBERFOSS (St. John the Baptist), a parish, in the union of Pockltngton, Wilton-Beacon division of the wapentake of Harthill, E. riding of York; containing the township of Newton-upon-Derwent, 8 miles (E.) from York. There are places of worship for Wesleyans and Primitive Methodists.[1]
