These records can be used to locate residents in large cities to determine jurisdictions, and identify occupations and residences.
These record are directories of residents of larger cities exist from about 1880. Records may contain residents’ names, addresses, occupations or places of employment. Directories may be found in city and municipal archives and libraries. About ten percent of the population may be identified.
