Probate records[edit | edit source]
Probate records (testamenti si succesiuni) include wills and other declaration regarding the estate of deceased persons and the inheritance of their heirs. Probate records were kept in Romania starting in 1648. It is estimated that about 10% of Romanians executed wills. Romanian wills, like all wills, can be used to establish family relationships. Other vital information may also be included according to who wrote the will.

Name and age of testator, residence, legatees or heirs, relationships, descriptions of property, date of will and probate, witnesses.
