Parish History[edit | edit source]

Sawley is an Ecclesiastical Parish in the county of Yorkshire, created in 1843 from Ripon Ancient Parish.

Other places in the parish include: Cowbush, Eavestone, Risplith, North Pastures, and Hungate.

SAWLEY, a chapelry, in the parish of Ripon, wapentake of Claro, W. riding of York, 5 miles (S. W.by W.) from Ripon.  There is a place of worship for Wesleyans.[1]
