Task Description[edit | edit source]

Add links to data files for the county on the UTGenWeb pages for each of the 29 counties.

Review the county GenWeb site, looking for databases, indexes, maps, history, anything of genealogical or historical interest to FamilySearch Wiki users.

For each item you find:

  1. In the FamilySearch Wiki, place the link under the appropriate topic, such as Cemeteries, Land Records, Obituaries, etc.
  1. Link to the exact place on their site where the item is found.
    1. If you cannot link to the exact place, describe how to navigate to it on the site.
    2. If there are several databases, such as several cemeteries, link to the area where the user can browse them all. No need to link to each one from the FamilySearch Wiki.
  2. Describe the link so the user will know what to expect, such as:
    1. What it is (type of record, index only or data from the record)
    2. Dates included
    3. Complete? Help the user know what to expect.
      1. A transcription, for example, may be quite complete, whereas family-submitted items are variable.
      2. You might say, for example "Only three entries. May be a small family cemetery." OR "Only three entries. Seems to be incomplete."
