Blawith (St John the Baptist) was created a chapelry in 1745 from Ulverston St Mary, Lancashire hundred of Lonsdale north of the Sands, N. division of the county of Lancaster, 7 miles (N.)from Ulverston. Other places included in this parish include: Higher Subberthwaite.[1]
