Chapelry History[edit | edit source]
OVER DARWEN, a chapelry, in the parish and union of Blackburn, Lower division of the hundred of Blackburn, N. division of Lancashire, 4¼ miles (S. by E.) from Blackburn. Over Darwen (St Peter ) was a chapel of ease built in 1827-1828. St. Peters' was formerly called Holy Trinity. The Wesleyan Methodists and Methodists of the New Connexion have places of worship here.[1] .
