Immigration and naturalization records[edit | edit source]

Research use: Very valuable for making proper connections to place of origin in other countries.

Record type: Record of immigrants, foreign residents, and citizens.

Time Period: 1922-present.

Content: Immigrant’s name, age, occupation, birth date and place, former residence, destination, wife’s name, childrens’ given names and ages or number of children, religion, race, nationality, sometimes picture.

Location: National Archives in Amman.

Population coverage: About 5% of the current population are immigrants. Much lower in earlier years.

Reliability: Good.[1]
