Information

Jordan, located in West Asia, is bordered by Syria to the north, Iraq to the east, Saudi Arabia to the south, and Israel and Palestine to the west. The area of Jordan has been ruled by the Nabateans, the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, Islamic Caliphates, and the Ottoman Empire. During the Ottoman period, Jordan was part of Greater Syria, later becoming a British protectorate before gaining independence in 1946 as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The main spoken language is Arabic, with English widely used as a second language, especially in business and education.
