The 90th Regiment, New York Infantry was organized by consolidation of McClellan Chasseurs and McClellan Rifles at New York City November and December, 1861. Brief History

The 90th Regiment, New York Infantry was organized by consolidation of McClellan Chasseurs and McClellan Rifles at New York City November and December, 1861. The regiment mustered out February 9, 1866.[1]

Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived, though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. If you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
