Azerbaijani is the only official language in Azerbaijan and is spoken by the majority of its population, however, a number of minority languages also exist in the country. The largest minority languages are: [1]
- Lezgian language - Spoken in Northern Azerbaijan
- Talysh language - Spoken in Southern Azerbaijan
- Avar language - Spoken North-western Azerbaijan
- Russian language - A lingua franca of Azerbaijan (a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different)
