Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]

Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived, though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.

Company A - many men from Madison County
Company B - many men from Franklin County
Company C - many men from Franklin County
Company D - many men from Licking County
Company E - many men from Champaign County
Company F - many men from Licking County
Company G - many men from Logan County & Madison County
Company H - many men from Franklin County
Company I - many men from Franklin County & Montgomery County: formerly of the 109th O.V.I.
Company K - many men from Champaign County: organized from Dec 8, 1863 to March 31, 1864
