The official language of Nigeria is English.
As reported in 2003, Nigerian English and Nigerian Pidgin were spoken as a second language by 60 million people in Nigeria.

The major native languages are:

Hausa language
Yoruba language
Igbo language
Fula language - also known as Fulani, Fulah, and Fulfulde
Ibibio-Efik languages
Kanuri language
Tiv language
Gbagyi language
Nupe language
