Civil Registration[edit | edit source]
Civil registration records kept by the former civil registration offices of Hamburg are now in the State Archive of Hamburg for the following time frames:
Births: 1874 formerly Prussian civil registration offices / 1876-1901
Marriages: 1874 formerly Prussian civil registration offices / 1876-1931
Deaths 1874 formerly Prussian civil registration offices /1876-1981
Further records are with the civil registration offices in Hamburg. One can search names in the general register, contact email: Generalregister-Hamburg@t-online.de

At the website of the Uni Hamburg all address and telephone books for Hamburg are being digitized. Further information can be found here
Citizens' registers[edit | edit source]
