Wallingford, Vermont at Wikipedia
Wallingford was chartered on November 27, 1761. The first proprietors' meeting was held at Wallingford, Ct, from which place this town was named, on September 12, 1772. The town was organized on March 10, 1778.
Wallingford can boast of three noteworthy individuals; Lyman Batcheller who designed and manufactured light-weight pitch forks, Gilbert Hart who made his fortune with the emery wheel invention and provided money for Wallingford's Gilbert Hart Library, and Paul Harris, who received his education in Wallingford, and founded Rotary Internation.
The population of Wallingford was 2,079 at the 2010 census. Wallingford also contains the villages of East Wallingford and South Wallingford. The majority of the town's population is centered around the Wallingford village.[1].[2]
