The ancient county of Middlesex was discontinued and replaced by "London County" (administered by the London County Council), encorporating the whole metropolis which includes the City of London. However, for historical context and for family history research purposes, this Middlesex County section strictly applies to all those parishes and their respective chapelies and district churches which reside outside of the walls of London City (proper).

While the list of Middlesex parishes page is not currently be complete, please make especial note of those places listed on the Middlesex Parishes page that have an asterisk (*) next to it. These indicate the ancient and civil parish in each case, and you will note that most of them have a link or, they list outright, ''a more complete and comprehensive list of chapelries, ancient chapels and the more modern district churches attached to each ancient parish''.
