FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Update Denmark Parish Pages Part 2
Purpose[edit | edit source]
We have organized all the information for the new Denmark parish page layout, and now we need to add it to the Denmark parish pages.

Task List[edit | edit source]
Instructions[edit | edit source]
1. Open the Task List, and navigate to a county tab you'd like to work on.
- If the tab is a dull green color, then it means that only Part 1 for that county has been completed, and it needs this second pass. (You can ignore tabs that are a bright green color.
Assess Current Parish Page[edit | edit source]
2. If column B of the task list says either of the following, you can skip it.
- 14 Dec 2023 (or other date): DONE - doesn't need work
- DONE: DONE - doesn't need work
3. This project will focus on fixing the parishes that just say "HEADING". If it says "HEADING" with anything else in the cell (such as USER or NEW), you can skip it. We'll just focus on HEADING for now.
4. In the search box on the FS Wiki, search your parish name (make sure the parish and county match the one you're working on from the task list).
5. Look for any of the following headings on the page:
- Birth, Marriage, and Death Online Records
- Related Sources
- FamilySearch Library Records
If any of those headings are still on the page, delete the heading and all content under it.
6. If you see the heading "Collections", evaluate what information is there.
- If it is mostly blank, or only has some bolded words, delete the heading, and continue to step 7.
- If there are any links at all under the "Collections" heading, leave the word "HEADING" on the task list, and skip this parish. Continue on to the next parish.
Create New Page[edit | edit source]
7. Once all irrelevant headings have be deleted (from step 5 and step 6 as needed), go back to the Task List and copy the code in column F.
8. On the Wiki parish page, click "Edit source", and delete all previous page code. Paste the new code into the parish page.
- NOTE: If your parish page has more than one Breadcrumb at the top of the page, when you paste in the new code, make sure to preserve both breadcrumbs. Some new parish code from the task list won't include both breadcrumbs, so we want to make sure we keep both of them in the final parish page.
9. After pasting in the new code, delete the extra quotation marks at the very bottom of the page (right after the Category codes) and at the very beginning (right before the breadcrumb code). I don't know why pasting the code generates that, but it does for some reason.
10. Click "show preview" to make sure the page looks ok. If everything looks good, Save the page and put "DONE" in column B of the task list.
11. Continue on to the next parish that has only "HEADING" in the task list.
