Sharia Courts: Sharia courts hold records of divorces, inheritances, and other fiscal and legal matters.
- Mukhallifat: Records of Inheritance Transactions. These records include names, family relationships, and sometimes addresses.
- Waqfiyat: Registers of endowed properties.

- Property owners endowed their property for reasons such as tax evasion. Waqfiyat are limited to a certain economic demographic since they only document property owners. There are two types: private (khass/Khayri) and public (aam). Revenue from private endowments go to the donor’s descendants, while revenue from public endowments go to the deed-holding institution.
- Waqfiyat registers contain names of the donors, and often also the names of their families, including wives and daughters.
