Not to be confused with Eaton Plantation, now part of Caribou in Aroostook County, Maine.


Eaton is an extinct town formerly on the farthest north edge of Washington County, Maine. In 1873 the town of Eaton was organized from the Crooked Brook Plantation. In 1887 Eaton set off the eastern part of its land to form Forest City; and at the same time the western remaining portion of the town was annexed to Danforth; and Eaton went extinct.[1] [2]
