Perlethorpe St John the Evangelist was formed as an Ecclesiastical Parish  in 1836 from chapelry in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire Ancient parish and is in the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire. The civil parish is Perlethorpe-cum-Budby
