There is a 145 reel Microfilm set of 429 volumes available from the National Archives that gives the names of Confederate-held prisoners. It consists mainly of registers and lists of captured soldiers and civilians. The records may provide such information as names, rank, unit or residence, dates of capture, deaths, prisoners released.
