Introduction[edit | edit source]
Genealogical collections include: compiled genealogies, organized collections of lineage data, family histories, pedigrees, family and community genealogies, and other such records. These collections can include names of individuals, relationships, and dates and places. These collections may also include histories or illustrations of ancestors and ancestral homes. Many collections include citations that point to primary sources. They may be found in various archives, libraries, and in private collections. The FamilySearch Catalog may have some online.
Note: a genealogical collection is only as accurate as the compiler and is, therefore, subject to error. These books are a great starting point to find original sources and documents.
