Purpose[edit | edit source]
We have organized all the information for the new Denmark parish page layout, and now we need to add it to the Denmark parish pages.

Task List[edit | edit source]
Instructions[edit | edit source]
1. Open the Task List, and navigate to a county tab you'd like to work on.
- If the tab is a dull green color, then it means that only Part 1 for that county has been completed, and it needs this second pass. (You can ignore tabs that are a bright green color.
Assess Current Parish Page[edit | edit source]
2. If column B of the task list says either of the following, you can skip it.
- 14 Dec 2023 (or other date): DONE - doesn't need work
- DONE: DONE - doesn't need work
3. This project will focus on fixing the parishes that just say "NEW". If it says "NEW" with anything else in the cell (such as USER or HEADING), you can skip it. We'll just focus on NEW for now.
4. In the search box on the FS Wiki, search your parish name (make sure the parish and county match the one you're working on from the task list).
5. Look for any headings besides the following:
- History
- Place Names
- References
Most often, it will be a Tax Records-type heading. If there is something else besides a Tax-related heading, highlight the row yellow on the task list and continue on to the next one.
6. Correct the new Tax-related links to the following formats:
POLL & CATTLE TAX
- 16 August 1684: A poll & cattle tax exists and can be accessed by clicking here.
becomes
- 1684 Poll & cattle tax, 16 August 1684(*) at FamilySearch - images
*'''YEAR''' [URL Poll & cattle tax, DATE](*) at FamilySearch - images
CONSUMPTION, FAMILY, & DOMESTIC SERVANT TAX
- 1 January 1697: A consumption, family, & domestic servant tax exists and can be accessed by clicking here.
becomes
- 1697 Consumption, family, & domestic servant tax, 1 January 1697(*) at FamilySearch - images
*'''YEAR''' [URL Consumption, family, & domestic servant tax, DATE](*) at FamilySearch - images
7. Double check all new Tax-related entries and make sure the formatting looks good.
8. Save the page, and open the same parish page in another tab. You should have two tabs open of the same parish. (It can be helpful to have them side by side in two separate windows)
Create New Page[edit | edit source]
9. Go back to the Task List and copy the code in column F.
10. On one tab of the Wiki parish page, click "Edit source", and delete all previous page code. Paste the new code into the parish page.
- NOTE: If your parish page has more than one Breadcrumb at the top of the page, when you paste in the new code, make sure to preserve both breadcrumbs. Some new parish code from the task list won't include both breadcrumbs, so we want to make sure we keep both of them in the final parish page.
11. After pasting in the new code, delete the extra quotation marks at the very bottom of the page (right after the Category codes) and at the very beginning (right before the breadcrumb code). I don't know why pasting the code generates that, but it does for some reason.
12. On the second tab of the parish page that contains the old page code), copy the new taxation links you fixed, and paste them under the Taxation heading on the parish page with the new code.
13. Click "show preview" to make sure the page looks ok. If everything looks good, Save the page and put "DONE" in column B of the task list.
14. Continue on to the next parish that has only "NEW" in the task list.
