Brief History

10th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry was organized at Nashville, Tenn., May to August, 1862. It mustered out June 23, 1865.

• Company C - Men from 3rd District, mainly from McMinn County.
• Company D - Men from McMinn and Hamilton Counties.
• Company E - Men from Meigs and Bradley Counties.
• Company F - Men mostly from other states; some from first five Tennessee congressional districts.
• Company G - Men from 1st, 2nd and 3rd Districts; mainly Bradley County.
• Company H - Men mostly from other states, with some from the 3rd District.
• Company I - Men from McMinn and Bradley Counties.
• Company K - Men from 3rd District and other states.
• Company L - Only 41 men. Never fully organized. About a third of the men from 3rd District, balance from other states.
• Company M - Never fully organized. Only 61 men.
