  • Always search for siblings' births records of the ancestor. It confirms the information already gathered or gives more.
  • Find the marriage of the father and mother of the ancestor. The marriage record will have information that will help locate their births.
  • Estimate the ages of the parents to help in looking for their birth records.
  • Locate death records for all family members.
  • Repeat this process for both the father and the mother, starting with their birth records, then their siblings' births, then their parents' marriages, and so on.
  • Search neighboring parishes when individuals cannot be found.
