Greek Family Group Sheets Project

Description
This project is a compilation of family group sheets filled out and submitted to the Utah Genealogy Society, (the precursor to FamilySearch) by decendants of Greek ancestors. Each family group sheet has the name of the person who filled it out, the person who submitted the sheet, and the source of their information.
Please note that the group sheets have been translated word for word and letter for letter, exactly as is written on the sheet. This means that there are numerous typographic errors and place name mistakes. The information on the sheets is considered a secondary source. The information used for sources are taken directly from the submitter.
History
In the late 1970’s to the early 80’s, members of the Greek community came together with the purpose of documenting their immigrant Greek families. Subsequently, a collection with over 1,500 group sheets containing over 14,500 names, dates, and sources, were compiled into one collection.
Group Sheet Information
• First, middle, and surnames
• Dates of births, marriages, and deaths
• Children and their spouses, when given
• Submitter, notes, and sources
• Greek spellings of names and places - correct and incorrectly given by submitter
• Personal info such as occupation and multiple marriages, when given
