Brief Timeline[edit | edit source]

  • 1534: Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca, shipwrecked comes in contact
  • 1848: Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo cedes Apache lands to the United States
  • 1872: General Cook directed military campaign to eliminate the Tonto Apache
  • 1872: Tonto assigned to Camp Verde
  • 1875: Tonto Apache moved to San Carlos Apache reservation
  • 1890: Apache Wars end.
