• 1828- ? : Indische Genealogische Vereniging (Indies Genealogical Society) has an index of the civil registry for Europeans and those treated as such on the website, though it can only be viewed by IGV members.

Historical Background

The earliest records date from 1828 during the Dutch colonial period. Some civil marriages and deaths were recorded as early as 1750. A number of records were destroyed during the Second World War.
