Civil service applications and examinations provide documentation of birth, marriage and death of government employees and applicant. They are valuable as a finding tool and supplement to civil registration where early records are lacking. Records date from the 1620s during the Dutch colonial period to the present.
These records can be used to verify birth, marriage and death dates and places, parents, family members and other relatives. Records are housed at the National Archives and municipal archives.
