Cushitic Branch
- Oromo language - spoken by the Oromo People
- Somali language - spoken by the Somalis
Semitic Branch
- Amharic Language - spoken by the Amhara People
- Tigrinya language - spoken by the Tigrayans

Together, these four groups make up about three-quarters of Ethiopia's population. ^[2]
