These records are roughly equivalent to feudal court records. They cover the time period from 1543 to 1867.

Content

This record contains:

• Names of feudal samurai
• Names of villagers who, for various reasons, transacted business with or otherwise came before the courts of the feudal lords (daimyo)
• Family relationships
• Details of the events, including dates of birth, death, and marriage for some individuals
• Changes of samurai residences.

How to obtain them

The Family History Library has films of these records. They are also found in Morioka City Hall and the National Archives of Japan.
