This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.

EAST BAY Genealogical Society – Meets the second Wednesday of every month at 10 AM. No appointment necessary.

AFRICAN AMERICAN Research Workshop – Meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6 PM to 8 PM, except July and August. No appointment necessary.

SWEDISH RESEARCH – Thursdays - Need some help with your Swedish research? Join our experts on Thursdays between 10A and 4P for some individual assistance. No appointment necessary.

FRENCH CANADIAN RESEARCH - Wednesdays - 6-9PM Jane Lindsey, CGS. No appointment necessary

Library Updates
The Library is being remodeled. We are Open for most of the painting, however, we will CLOSE SATURDAY, April 5th and reopen MONDAY, May 6th, 2019. Please check this site for all updates. We won't be running any classes during the April Remodel and the May Open House due to parking issues. Please visit us during the Open House - May 11th through June 1st!!!

Oakland California FamilySearch Library

The Oakland California FamilySearch Library is one of the largest and most accessible centers for genealogical research in California. Besides providing free access to numerous subscription websites included but not limited to ancestry.com, Fold 3, Genealogy Bank, Archion and History.Geo, we also have over 7,000 volumes of books, periodicals, family histories, city and county histories, city directories, plus over 27,000 reels of microfilm and 8,795 microfiche containing millions of local vital records and historical census data from all over the world.
